Parent Child Swim Lessons (6 months - 5 years)This 30-minute class introduces safety awareness and provides an excellent opportunity to develop pre-swimming skills in a fun atmosphere. Parent child classes are geared towards children ages 6 months to 5 years. For children 6 months - 5 years. Our Skippers program stresses enjoyment, pre-swim learning activities, development of confidence in parents and children, and water safety. Class size is limited. Shrimp/Kippers For children 6-12 months. Shrimp/Kippers introduces infants and parents to an aquatic environment encouraging a happy and relaxing time for both child and parent. Water adjustment, bubble blowing and back floating with support are introduced at this level. Inias/Perch For children 13 - 36 months. Toddlers can relax with their parents and are encouraged to begin independence in water with parent always nearby. Toddler learns to blow bubbles, get face wet voluntarily, kick on front with support, jump in without assistance, do back floats with assistance and learns safe entry in and out of pool. As the child progresses he/she is combining arm movements kicking and blowing bubbles as he/she swims. All skills learned in this program prepare the child for transition to the pre-school program. Pike with Parent For children 3 - 5 years. This entry level class is designed for children with little or no prior water experience. The pike with parent class will allow children to be comfortable with parent and is now encouraged to begin independence in water with parent always nearby. Water adjustment and basic introductory skills are explored with the goal of moving in the water independently with a bubble. Preschool Swim Lessons (3 - 5 years)We help children build elementary swimming skills while teaching them safety along the way. Children are placed with our trained instructors based on their skill levels. Register Online This preschool entry level is designed for children with little or no prior water experience. Water adjustment and basic introductory skills are explored with the goal of moving in the water independently with a bubble. Pike Plus This level is designed for the beginner who is able to swim the width of the pool independently with a flotation bubble while splashing his/her feet. The goal of this level is to have the child swimming confidently across the pool without a flotation device. Eels A swimmer of this level can confidently and independently swim across a width of the pool. Stroke development is started as well as building endurance to swim the length. Rays This level begins a voyage to confidence and increased endurance. This level also introduces water safety to the swimmer. Starfish The advanced swimmer in this level has accomplished basic and is now perfecting his/her strokes. This swimmer is a prime candidate for swim team. Youth Swim Lessons (6 - 14 years)The Y Swimming Program is designed for children 6 - 14 years with emphasis on learning - not passing or failing. Each level has five components to promote health and fitness: personal safety, stroke development, water sports and games, personal growth and rescue. Swimmers must complete each level before progressing to the next level. This is a beginning level class for children with little or no water experience. Rhythmic Breathing and basic stroke skills are introduced with emphasis on water adjustment and safety. Polliwog Plus This is an advance beginner level class introduction to Rotary Breathing with emphasis on gaining confidence and endurance to swim a length on their front and back. Guppy This level swimmer has confidence and endurance to swim the length of the pool Rotary Breathing, Elementary Backstroke kick and Backstroke introduced. Minnow This level swimmer is continuing to develop Rotary Breathing and Backstroke. Elementary Backstroke and Breaststroke kick introduced. Fish This level swimmer has learned three basic strokes and should be beginning to master them. Endurance development on previously taught skills. Breaststroke and Dolphin kick introduced. Flying Fish This level swimmer learns the skills and strokes required of the competitive swimmer. Emphasis on endurance and stroke development. Shark This level swimmer has learned all four competitive strokes and has increased endurance. Introduction to preliminary lifesaving skills. Adult Swim LessonsIt’s never too late to learn to swim, improve your skills or add swimming for cross training. Improve your swimming abilities with our certified instructors. From beginning to advanced levels of water hazards, boating safety, floating, jumping into water, return to entry point, glides, breathing skills, you will improve your backstroke, front/back crawl, breaststroke, butterfly, sidestroke, dives, flip turns, and gain confidence in and around the water. Register Online SPLASH (6 - 12 years)Spring Break is the perfect time to get your kids in the pool! Our instructors spend Monday through Thursday in the pool with your kids, improving their skills and building self-confidence. On Friday, we invite your whole family to join us in the pool. No membership is required, but enrollment is limited! Each class is 45-minutes long. Private Swim Lessons (Ages 3+ years)Can’t make our class schedule? Prefer more attention? You can set up an appointment for 1 lesson or more! Each lesson is 30 minutes and may be private, with a certified instructor, or family and friends can learn together in groups of 2 or 3 with one instructor. Available for ages 3 and up.
